The Virtual Sex Project

Principle Researcher, Dr. Lynn Miller | Co-Investigator, Dr. Carlos Godoy

Since 1993, the Virtual Sex Project has been working to develop innovative and effective HIV prevention tools for the MSM (Men who have Sex with Men) community. Our research group is dedicated to increasing responsible sexual decision making among often neglected populations.

The Virtual Sex Project is a study funded by the University of California’s CHRP program (California HIV Reduction Program). This agency funds projects designed to reduce health related disparities especially with regard to HIV infection through innovative strategies designed to reach and speak to underserved populations. We have received funding through the social and behavioral branch of this agency.

The project consists of Dr. Lynn Miller, our principal investigator from the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, and Dr. Carlos Godoy, the co-principal investigator from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Together with a host of talented graduate and undergraduate students, we are hoping to share our vision of a healther, happier, California by reducing sexual risk taking among MSM (men who have sex with men).
